The Canadian Living Journalism Prize just got better. The two grand prizes now each include a paid 12-week internship, worth approximately $6,500. That's about $13 an hour. I'm not holding my breath, but let's hope this inspires other magazines to start paying their interns.

This fantastic news, but I still wish it could be open to recent grads, continuing ed students, and people who are just coming into the biz after working in another sector for a while. C'est la vie.
I completely agree with Cara. I think it's ridiculous that it's only open to full-time journalism students, as most recent jschool grads are having such a hard time breaking into the industry.
